Dedicated to the memory of Ken

This site is a tribute to Ken Jones (Ken Tilly) of Johnstown.

We mourn the passing of Ken Jones, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ken was born and raised in Johnstown, where much of the community knew him well. Survived by his 6 children, Sharon, Lee, Michelle, and Lucy, Kylie and Nick. A loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Ken was a keen fisherman, travelling far for his love of the sport. He would often spend nights at Monks' pool in Johnstown. Most of his working life was spent at Ruabon Brickworks, working on the world-famous tiles/bricks which many find in their homes today. As children, we had the pleasure of creating our own designs, since he liked to 'bring his work home' with him.

In his retirement he was usually found walking his dog Rex or enjoying a pint or two at the Moreton.

Funeral for Ken

The funeral service is at St. Mary's Church on Friday 10th May 2024 at 12pm followed by an interment at Rhos Community Cemetery. Flower tributes are welcome at the burial once the family have said their farewell.

Those of you who wish to join the family after the church service will be welcomed to The Legion where there are refreshments and food from 12.45 onwards.

We welcome any photographs you would like to share with us, that bring back memories of Ken. There will be boards available for your photos, which you can leave for others to appreciate, arranged around a central image of Ken.

Donations in memory of Ken will be welcome towards The League of Friends at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
